I particularly like the quote attributed to Albert Einstein, even if it wasn't actually his: "Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts." So many women and young girls and men for that matter, are bombarded with media images of how they "should" look to be regarded as beautiful, pretty or worthy. They fail to see that other people see them as beautiful or special just as they are, because they are trying to look like someone they saw in the media or adverts. This can and does damage so many people. Boudoir shoots are not just for those who are naturally confident in themselves, but intended to empower those who think they are not, to believe in their own unique beauty. Lyrics from the famous Baz Luhrmann song also come to mind: "Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth, oh, never mind You will never understand the power And the beauty of your youth until they've faded But trust me, in twenty years You will look back at photos of yourself And recall in a way you can't grasp now How much possibility lay before you And how fabulous you really looked You are not as fat as you imagine Read more: Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free (to Wear Sunscreen) Lyrics | MetroLyrics PS: The fb quotes included are not my photographs and are borrowed from various sources and credited to their owners, but in my mind do reflect the general feeling of this genre of photography in getting people to believe in themselves.
